Affiliate Marketing is about recommending something. You’ve likely been doing this for years without even realizing it. Every time you suggest a great movie to a friend, rave about a fantastic restaurant, recommend a must-read book, or notify someone about a sale, you’re already participating in the essence of Affiliate Marketing.

The difference? Now, when you make a recommendation online, or invite someone to take a look at something, you have the potential to get paid for it. It can be a part of your everyday conversations.

Affiliate Marketing is an excellent source of additional income for those who specialize in a niche. If you have a blog, a website, a podcast, or a newsletter, it’s a perfect way to recommend products to your audience and earn a commission when they make a purchase.
- You can link directly to the product you’re promoting, and if your audience buys from that link, you earn a commission. The best part is, your audience feels good about the purchase because it’s coming from a reputable merchant and someone they trust — you. Sites like Guitar Center (for musicians), B&H Photo (for camera enthusiasts), and Petco (for pet lovers), and thousands of others have affiliate programs just waiting for entrepreneurs like you to take advantage of.
The rise of the Internet has given birth to a new type of Affiliate Marketing — niche marketing. Marketers create content, product reviews, and dedicated sales pages to promote just one item. When people click on their links and purchase that product, the marketer earns a commission — without ever owning or shipping the product. While this can be a lucrative method, the downside is that it often requires significant effort and investment (especially in paid advertising) just to make one sale at a time.
My approach involves combining Affiliate Marketing, Attraction Marketing, and Word-of-Mouth Marketing to build my business and network using “Self-Contained Offers.” The key to my strategy is choosing offers that meet specific criteria:
- It’s a product, service, or app that I would personally use, even without a compensation plan attached.
- It’s affordable for the average person to use or consume monthly.
- Not only a "Home-Based Business", it must be a "Phone-Based Business". What I mean by this, you must be able to run your business from anywhere. Even when you're on vacation or cruising around the world. And it must fit into your schedule.
- It’s an easy, affordable, or even free way for people who live paycheck to paycheck to start a side hustle and generate passive, residual income.
In closing, I’ve tried just about every type of marketing over the Internet for the past three decades. I can confidently say that what I’m doing now is Not Your Parents’ MLM Program. There are no meetings in living rooms, no Saturday morning hotel trainings, and no selling products out of the trunk of your car. Everything you need to succeed is right here, within these articles and trainings, right here on this website — my way of giving back.
